”I exhibited 80 of these portraits, although some people found it tedious… lots of portraits were on white background, but that’s the way I want to do things and I like that.” – James O Jenkins

James O Jenkins spoke at the Start Up 002 event about his ongoing ‘Stand Here Please’ project and how the exhibition lead to a commission to photograph all of the 2400 participants in Antony Gormley’s One and Other, Forth Plinth commission, without compromising his vision and approach.

James has published United Kingdom, a visual study of traditional annual UK customs, he is a co-founder of Portrait Salon, and is part of the  ‘A Fine Beginning’, a Welsh photography collective.
